The Words Left Behind

An early, foundational piece created when I first began speaking about domestic violence in therapy. By confronting the cruel, degrading labels weaponized by an abuser, this work illustrates how verbal abuse acts as a physical weight forcibly strapped to the survivor's body in an attempt to rewrite their identity and self-worth.
